You asked for new faces and help on the City Council - it looks to me like you're knee deep in it. What's your vision for Pensacola?
You asked for it, here it is:
1. That staff seize control of the agenda away from staff.
2. That there is a level playing field for competition instead of the backroom, rear-door deals cut between staff and the usual suspects, which will be automatically approved by a country-club Council.
3. That Pensacolians reap the reward of investment in our community and not just the plantation owners.
4. That each Council member has the opportunity to shine on his or her own and not just the opportunity to follow an old family name.
5. That the new Council will be able to build a big, unified community success on top of several quick, small successes at the whim of several individual Council members, regardless of tenure.

At the whim
is rarely positive, for anyone.
Hopefully the knee jerk reactionary decisions of the past council are over.
With the election behind us, hopefully we will see sound judgment and reason instead of a council playing for votes.
